Colin is a fine art painter and freelance art tutor, based in the Tamar Valley.
He was born in Gulworthy, Devon, he studied Fine Art at BA Honors degree level at Plymouth college of art and the University of Plymouth building upon his self taught roots.
He experiments in many mediums and image making techniques investigating the notion of merging abstract themes with figurative painting.
He paints portraits by commission and was featured in Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the year 2019 , painting a 4 hour portrait of actor Nick Moran at the Wallace collection London in front of a live TV audience and the judging panel. In that same year he also completed a large scale mural with over 80 life size figures at the St Annes Church hall, Gunnislake, and in the summer 2019 designed and painted one of the Elmer elephants "The Beauty of Transience" for St Lukes hospice Elmer's big parade. He has spent the summer 2020 painting a portrait a day during the lockdown period of key NHS workers in gratitude to them and their hard work during the pandemic. This was featured on BBC spotlight southwest May 2020.
